The NORDAC heat-retainig fireplace can store heat from burning wood and gradually release it at a low, even rate. This effect is achieved by combining the fireplace insert with MAMMOTH storage rings containing a solid cast iron coil. The coil heats up quickly and transfers energy to the surrounding magnetite, which, thanks to its exceptional density, is perfectly saturated with heat and slowly releases it back into the room. First, the room is heated by radiation through the glass door, and then the storage mass and the fireplace casing gradually add to the heat. As a result, the pleasant radiant heat persists for many hours after the fire has gone out.
